Sabal Palms Recovery Center in Brooksville, Florida, offers programming that is designed specifically for young adults ages 19-26 who are struggling with addictions and co-occurring concerns. In this program, our team focuses on providing care that takes into account the unique challenges individuals face during this stage of life.
About the ThriveForward Program in Brooksville, Florida
We recognize that different stages of life bring about different challenges. Young adults are in a pivotal stage where they are expected to select colleges, define career paths, and begin living independently. They have a lot of choices to make and many new experiences ahead of them.
But if they are struggling with a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health concern, this transition period can be exceptionally difficult. Many of them are facing emotional, behavioral, and developmental barriers that are preventing them from achieving independence, stability, and long-term recovery.
For this reason, we developed the ThriveForward Program specifically for young adults who are suffering from addictions and need residential care.
This program was created based on the belief that young adults deserve to get dedicated care that is clinically sound and developmentally appropriate and aligns with their life goals. It offers a highly structured, intensive experience that focuses on helping clients stabilize, achieve personal growth, and reintegrate into their daily lives with confidence.
In this program, we aim to help our clients learn how to manage their symptoms, regain a sense of independence, and thrive in their recovery.
Therapies Used in the ThriveForward Program
The ThriveForward Program was crafted in a way that makes sure that each young adult has access to comprehensive services that meet them where they are on their healing journey.
All care is evidence-based and highly individualized based on each person’s specific needs. Clients get individualized treatment plans that outline what they can expect while they are in the program. These treatment plans may include the following:
Detoxification services: Individuals who come to our recovery center with drugs or alcohol in their systems may need to receive detox services. These services are provided on-site by qualified clinical staff members who work to make sure that clients remain safe and as comfortable as possible throughout the withdrawal process. Detox typically lasts between five and seven days.
Medication management services: Young adults who need to take medication as part of their recovery process can receive daily medication management services from our nursing staff.
Individual therapy: Individual therapy offers clients time to meet one-on-one with a therapist. In these sessions, they are able to process their experiences, confront the challenges they are facing, and learn coping skills. This can also be a time when they can celebrate milestones and successes. Clients are able to take part in individual therapy sessions daily.
Group therapy: In group therapy sessions, clients meet both with peers and trained professionals to discuss various topics. Here, they not only have a chance to learn from and work with experienced therapists, but they can also benefit from receiving support from other clients in the program. Their interactions with peers can help them see that they are not alone in the struggles they are facing, removing any sense of isolation they may have been experiencing. Group therapy is the foundation of programming, and clients take part in multiple sessions throughout the day.
Experiential therapies: Clients in the ThriveForward Program may participate in various types of experiential therapies, including art therapy, music therapy, movement therapy, and occupational therapy. These experiential therapy sessions give clients a chance to express themselves creatively outside of talk therapy, allowing for a fully comprehensive experience.
We also offer medication-assisted treatment services if needed. Whether a person would benefit from this service is determined at the time of their admission to the program.
Our Approach
Our approach to care is person-centered, meaning that all aspects of care are designed around a person’s unique clinical and social needs and their treatment goals.
The care we provide is evidence-based, ensuring that our clients receive the utmost in clinically excellent services. We use therapeutic modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing.
Our main goals with the ThriveForward Program include:
Helping clients stabilize from symptoms of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
Equipping clients with practical life skills
Teaching clients appropriate coping mechanisms
Ensuring that clients maintain their academic standing and supporting them as they reenter work or school after their time in the program has ended
Helping clients foster independence and resilience in preparation for returning home and moving to lower levels of care
Core Features of the ThriveForward Program
In addition to providing evidence-based therapies at our Brooksville, Florida, residential recovery center, we offer multiple services that are designed to promote a well-rounded care experience.
Academic support and reintegration: Many of our clients are in college, and we want to make sure that getting the care they need does not impact their educational progress. We prioritize structured academic support for clients in the ThriveForward Program to prevent full-semester withdrawals and academic penalties. Our team coordinates with university counseling staff and academic affairs teams to help clients maintain their academic status and support a smooth transition back to school once they have completed their time in the ThriveForward Program. Clients have scheduled time incorporated into their day when they can use computers to take care of school-related tasks, including email check-ins and coursework completion.
Life skills training: To prepare our clients for life outside of our residential facility, we work to help them develop the skills they need to live independently. This includes teaching them how to cook, providing guidance on how to create and manage a budget, and ensuring that they know how to maintain appropriate hygiene.
Transitional readiness: We want to make sure that our clients feel confident in their ability to succeed once they complete the ThriveForward Program. It is important for young adults to know how to look for and maintain steady employment, so we dedicate time to working with clients on vocational goal setting, resume preparation, and career planning.
